Birthday Photos

July 25, 2011  Three Years Old!  Brenna's little party.

Ahhh!  Brenna had a fabulous time at her little party on the day of her Birthday.  We took her to Red Robin for dinner.  She loves Red Robin, because they have balloons!  She chose an orange balloon, which is her current favorite color.  Papaw, Jamie, Mom and Dad came along for the fun!  We went home to have her little cupcake Birthday Cake, complete with candles, balloons, and some ice cream, too.  On to the presents, which she took her sweet time opening.  Her big gift was in the back yard. Go look at the last few photos here.  She loved it!

Happy Third Birthday!

July 25, 2011

I cannot believe our dear girl is already three.  The past three years have brought us so much joy.  She has grown so quickly.  Was it not just yesterday that she was a sleepy newborn who woke long enough to have a bottle, get changed, smile at us for a minute, and then lull right back into peaceful slumber?  We now have a spriteful little girl who tells us what is going on.  She has her own personality, mostly happy go lucky, with a hint of serious.  She is very observant, and points out every detail of her surroundings, most often in a boisterous, and very loud proclamation. She loves her people, her friends, family, pets, and those who love her back, and she has no problem telling the world who she loves.  She jumps, runs, dances giddily, climbs, talks, talks, talks, creates, and embraces every single day for whatever it gives her.  She is our joy, and she keeps us young.

I see a great future ahead of her.  She is a learner, and wants to know the whys and hows of everything.  If she can't figure it out, she expects a thorough explanation, until she is happy that she gets it.  She has to "do it myself"  with just about everything.  We hear "I do it!" many times a day around here.  I love that she wants to help herself.

BUT.....I want to slow it down, and keep her little for awhile longer.  Just us....our little peanut, and her people...for just a little while longer.  All too soon, she will head off to school on the "big cheese", as Ken likes to refer to the school bus, and "her people" will become a very broad and diverse group of friends and families who come from the many activities she has in her life.  For just a minute longer, we would like to be "her people" and revel in our small world.  Then we will let her loose into the big world and the fabulous things that will make her into the adult she will one day become.  Look out world!  Brenna is about to come take you on!

Photos are coming.  Brenna had a fantastic Birthday, and she milked the Birthday train all week until her friend party at Gymnation.  I had a photographer shoot some photos of that party, so I will post them all together in one large photo post.

Happy Birthday, beautiful girl!

Summer 2011

Brenna's first trip to Kings Island.  She was scared at first, but warmed up quickly.  She wanted to ride the little roller coaster in the Snoopy area, but she is still a full inch too short.  Poor child.  Maybe next summer....

Waiting patiently in line.

She was first in line, and she chose the "Yellow car, please!"

OOH!  Seatbelts here, too!

Driving, all serious like.

Mom and Bren waiting for the carousel.

Hello horsey.  I think I am not sure about this thing you do.

Father's Day 2011

Some photos I took of Brenna for her Daddy's Father's Day Gift.  We put these into a 3 photo frame for Ken's home office.  She really had a great time getting her photo taken.  Ken loved it!

Outer Banks Vacation 2011

Brenna adored the beach this year.  She loved the "big sand box, and the waves".  The lighthouses were a close second.  One day, the high tide ripped a trench on the upper beach, and Brenna made the small pond her "pool" for the day.  Traveling was rough.  It is a long ride, but the fun on the beach made up for the drive.
